CASL does not negotiate, receive transaction payments, exchange legal documents, act as an estate agent, provide legal representation, provide escrow, or participate in property transactions.

Payments are made directly between buyers, tenants, and property owners or their authorized representatives. CASL is not a party to sale agreements, rental agreements, lease agreements, property transfers, or money transfers.
Buying Property Safely
- Visit the property and confirm its exact location and boundaries.
- Verify the seller's identity and authority to sell.
- Conduct an official ownership search through the relevant government office.
- Compare the title, survey, rates, land rent and planning information.
- Use an independent qualified advocate for the agreement and transfer.
- Do not pay based only on photographs, messages or copied documents.
Renting Safely
- View the property before paying rent, booking fees or a deposit.
- Confirm the landlord or agent is authorized to let the property.
- Read the rental or lease agreement carefully.
- Record the property's condition and inventory before moving in.
- Confirm utility, service-charge and deposit terms in writing.
- Obtain a proper receipt for every payment.
Selling Safely
- Verify the identity and contact details of interested persons.
- Keep original title and identity documents secure.
- Share sensitive documents only through your advocate when necessary.
- Do not accept suspicious overpayments or requests to refund third parties.
- Keep enquiry and viewing records.
- Report impersonation, threats and fraudulent buyers.
Avoid Property Fraud
- Fake or altered title deeds and identification.
- Advertisers using stolen property photographs.
- Duplicate listings with changed phone or payment details.
- Pressure to pay urgently before viewing or verification.
- Fake agents claiming exclusive authority.
- Identity theft and requests to keep transactions secret.
